Nir's Biking Hobby

I have started the biking hobby about a year and half ago and found that I enjoy it greatly, originally I started walking longer distances with my dog at around Dec 2019 - when discovering I live near the Israel National Trail, also around the time I started to learn to become a private pilot, and both of these have greatly opened my mind about the world around me and the fact that it's a small world after all :) I started to really get to know and enjoy the cities in my area and the nature around me.
After increasing my walking range each time to see where I can get to next with only my feet I have eventually started to make trips lasting hours and reaching places like Gaash, Yakum and eventually even Udim (after reaching Udim by foot I have taken the bus back home).
I have started to think about biking when I wanted to test it as an alternative mode of transportation that is more speedy than walking. I discovered the fact that I can reach places quickly using solely my body power is really fun, and biking enables you to really "feel the ground" when moving from one place to another.
At first biking to distances today I call "short" was quite complicated and also my bike configuration was not fitting since I had road wheels that constantly got flat so even a single ride to Tel Aviv was a high chance of getting a flat before arrival.
As a lesson from that, I started to carry a spare tire with me and that has indeed helped when I needed to replace the tire.
Eventually I decided to upgrade my wheel to be more fitting for gravel biking, and that has helped reduce dramatically the flat tires :)
